Schwalbe Motion Pick-Up Tyre was Schwalbe’s first dedicated cargo tyre and it is still the one we start with for heavy family and freight bikes. Bike Society stocks the Tour sizes for bakfiets-style and longtail builds.
The brief is simple: stay up under load. Puncture protection and a stable carcass matter more than a light rolling feel when you have kids or cargo on board.
The tread is calm on sealed streets and still decent on short dirt connectors between suburbs.
Check the load rating against your bike’s plated weight. Cargo tyres fail when people fit a commuter size to a freight bike.
